TASTE OF CALGARY-ENVIRONMENT CREW

Contract: August 8th-11th 2019

Location: Eau Claire Market

Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary has partnered with Taste of Calgary to assist with the litter clean up and recycling management from August 8th-11th 2019. Working as a part of the Environment Crew is a fun way to take part in the Taste of Calgary annual event and a great way to gain work experience! Taste of Calgary is the city's most appetizing festival, giving visitors the chance to sample the city's food, beverages, music and other cool things.

The Environment Crew plays an important role in keeping the festival clean of litter and waste ensuring customers have a fantastic event experience. As well Environment Crew members assist in educating attendees about recycling and waste bins, answering questions, providing directions, increasing awareness, and creating a positive environment for attendees.

Think of the food! As a crew member you will have a chance to experience sample-sized menu items that are perfect for a bite-size taste of Calgary’s great cuisine. Yum!

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for cleaning designated areas with crew
  • Interact with attendees at the event to provide education about sorting items into appropriate recycling and waste containers
  • Provide feedback to supervisor based on interactions with attendees to help improve recycling and waste management procedures
  • Enhance attendees experience by interacting in a positive and friendly manner
  • Ensure cleanliness of designated area
  • Expected to work diligently throughout the entire shift
  • Responsible for the care and storage of equipment
  • Must agree to uniform standards
  • Must report to Environment Crew Supervisors

 

AVAILABLE SHIFT TIMES (Shift times are subject to change)

If you are 15 years and older you may only apply for:

  • 10:00am-4:30pm
  • 11:00am-5:00pm
  • 4:00pm-9:30pm

 

If you are 18 years and older you may only apply for:

  • 11:00am-4:30pm
  • 4:00pm-9:30pm

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work all 4 days of the event

Out-going, friendly personality

Interest in recycling and waste management

Must possess excellent communication skills and able to provide direction

Able to work well with others

Must have social insurance number and proof of age.
